SO THIS IS POSTPONED – I RUPTURED MY HAMSTRING. I WILL SEE HOW I FEEL IN A WEEK OR SO AND IF ICAN CONTINUE TRAINING I WILL BUT IT IS VERY UNLIKELY. I MAY DO THIS FOR A RACE IN JANUARY INSTEAD AT DISNEY WORLD.
I have decided to run the 2012 New Hampshire Marathon. Last year I did 2 half marathons and now I want to cross a full marathon off my bucket list. I have only recently in my lifespan gotten into fitness and running. After you hit 30 your metabolism goes away and I didn’t realize it until I was well into my 30s. So now I am trying to make up for it.
Many people run for a cause. Things that they are passionate about. If you know me I am passionate about theatre. So that is my cause and I want you to support me as I run for theatre. How can I run for theatre? Well in the last 10 years there have been 4 theatre companies that I have worked a lot with:
- The Clinton Are Showboat Theatre
- Fox Country Players
- Fox Valley Repertory
- North Country Center for the Arts
From professional equity theatres to summer stock theatres to community theatres, they all, like every not-for-profit arts organization, are in need of money for operations. This is where you come in.
I want you to sponsor every mile I run or every pound I lose until I finish my marathon on September 29, 2012. You can also sponsor an ad on my T-shirt that I will wear while I run the race. See the figure below. Area 1 is $1000 and can say anything you want as long as it not racist, mean, or has swear words. The other areas are $250 and can have your company’s logo or anything you want with the afore mentioned caveats.
When I finish the race I will call you all and collect your pledges. I can take cash, checks, credit cards, and paypal. If you are writing checks you can make them out to North Country Center for the Arts and once we collect everything we will divy up the money depending on your wishes (you can choose to give money directly to a certain theatre or you can divide it evenly between all four) and you will have helped motivate me and help me mark off a bucket list item and at the same time help 4 great theatres.
Below is my training calendar which will give you an idea of how much I plan to run. I will mark in black what the plan is and in orange what I actually did and I will keep a “running” tally below the calendar. I could run more or I could run less. Each of the orange real runs will have a link to runkeeper.com so you can keep up with how fast I am going and all my run stats. Here’s the calendar:
Total Goal Miles = 419.2 Curent Status = 82.83
Starting Weight = 221.6 Current Weight = 198.6 Weight Goal = 185
